William Adams Died September 6
Funeral services for William (Bill) Adams were held at the Arcadia Methodist Church Monday, September 10th, Rev. Leonard Hartwig officiating. Interment was in the Loup City cemetery with graveside services by the Broken Bow Masonic Lodge.
William Adams was born January 4, 1900, at Bellwood, Nebraska, to Russell and Arminta Adams, and departed this life September 6, 1962 at his home in Arcadia. His boyhood life was spent west of Loup City on Clear Creek. He was graduated from the Broken Bow High School in 1920. On November 27, 1923, he was united in marriage to Anna Janda. To this union was born five daughters. They spent the next 31 years on farms in Sherman and Custer counties, moving to Arcadia in 1954, where they have since made their home. Mr. Adams was a member of the Methodist Church of Arcadia, the Masonic Lodge of Broken Bow, and the Sesostris Shrine Temple of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Phyllis, who died in infancy, and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Anna, of Arcadia; four daughters, Mrs. Seth Williams of Rose, Nebraska, Mrs. Noel Paulson of Garden Grove, Calif., Mrs. John Mason of Sidney, Nebraska, and Ranae Adams of Jackson Heights, New York; six grandchildren; four brothers, Russell of Broken Bow, Chester, Lewis, and Vernon of Loup City; two sisters, Mrs. James McMeekin of Shelby, Nebraska, and Mrs. August Thelan of Ralston, Nebraska; and many other relatives and friends.
