CHESTER ADAMS

Chester Adams of Loup City, died Thursday evening at his residence, at the age of 100 years, 3 months.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 16, 1991, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with Rev. Ralph Erts officiating.
Music was provided by Wilma Cook, organist. "Wings of a Dove" was sung by Hope Pritchard and "How Great Thou Art" was sung by the congregation.
Casketbearers were Al Smith, Lynn Johnson, LaVern Mroczek, Ellwyn Apperson, Royce Chipps, and Dean Kwiakowski.
Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Loup City. Visitation was held from 1 until 9 p.m. Sunday at the Loup City Memorial Funeral Home.
Chester Arthur Adams was born May 12, 1891 at Sanborn, Ia., to Russell Dean and Armita Oliver Adams. He moved with his family to Rising City, later to Bellwood. In 1906, he moved to Sherman county. He attended the Lone Elm Country School District #11 West of Loup City. He attended and graduated from Custer College at Broken Bow in 1913.
He married Mable Kuhn at Shelby on March 7, 1935. They farmed west of Loup City in Sherman county. They retired in 1983 and moved to Loup City. Mable died Oct. 11, 1989. Chester had been in failing health the past two weeks. In May, he celebrated his 100th birthday.
He was a member of the Methodist Church of Loup City.
He is preceded in death by his wife, five brothers, and six sisters.
