A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, in Pegg, Paxson & Springer Funeral Chapel in Beaverton for Lillian May Carpenter, who died Sept. 6 at age 93. Mrs. Carpenter was born April 17, 1905, in Kelso, Wash. Her maiden name was Howard. She was an inspector for Pendleton Woolen Mills for 18 years, retiring in 1965. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She married Alvin H. in 1922; he died in 1982. Survivors include her sons, Alvin and Arthur; daughter, June Eastman; sister, Norma Houghton; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Skyline Memorial Gardens.
