BOWMAN, JOHN ~ Pleasant Hill ~ John Bowman was born in Bedford county, Penn. on the twenty-first of March 1852. He died April 1, 1912, aged sixty years and nine days. He was united in marriage with Amelia E. Bowers on the twenty-fifth of January 1874. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Webster Honeyman, Tippecanoe City, Ohio, and Mrs. Clate Morton, Pleasant Hill, Ohio, and one son, William Bowman, of Trinidad, Colorado, who could not be present at the funeral on account of sickness. John Bowman emigrated to Miami county from his native state in about 1862, since which time he has made this county his home. When a young man he united with the Cove Springs Christian church, and during the last few years he has frequently mentioned that as his church home. He leaves to mourn his loss his widow, three children, nine grandchildren, his father and three brothers. Two sisters and his mother preceded him in death many years ago. The last services were conducted in the home of Rev. Alva M. Kerr, and the interment was at Pleasant Hill.
