Mrs. Hattie E. Aspinall, daughter of Francis and Sarah Rain, was born at Piqua, Ohio, Feb. 14, 1849. She was married to Mr. Richard Aspinall April 5, 1866, and together they shared the joys and sorrows of life until July 5, 1902, when the death of Mr. Aspinall separated them. Their marriage was blessed with ten children, six sons and four daughters. Two of the sons died a number of years ago, while eight children remain to mourn the death of their mother. They are: Mrs. Elizabeth Eddy, of Troy, Charles E., Cora Crampton, Ben L. and George L., all of Covington, Mrs. Emma Fox, of Brookville, O., Carl L., of Oregon City, Ore., and Mrs. Bertha Eidemiller, of Wilder, Idaho. There are nineteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was of a family of fourteen children, only one of who survives her, Mrs. Mary George, of Sidney, O., who is now ninety-one years old. Mrs. Aspinall died Feb. 6, 1928. If she had lived until the fourteenth she would have been seventy-nine years of age. She and her husband lived almost all of their married life on the farm just east of Covington. She united with the Christian Church at Covington, February 2, 1887, during the pastorate of Rev. W. T. Warbington, forty years ago. While yet on the farm it was a regular sight to see her with all of her children driving to the church on Sunday morning. What finer tribute can be paid to the life work of this mother than is paid in the family she reared. She was a mother. A mother who gave herself to her children that, though she is dead in body, in them will her life go on.

Burial will be made in Highland Cemetery.
