Martha Moeller Aiken - Rolla Daily News - Sep/9/2009

Martha Moeller Aiken of Rolla passed away on Friday, Sept. 4, in the company of those she loved. She was 87 years of age.
Martha was born to Jessie and William Moeller in 1922 and spent her childhood in St. James before marrying Charles Norman "Chip" Aiken in 1942 and moving to Rolla, where they were later blessed with two daughters, Martha and Norma Aiken.
Mrs. Aiken served as a bookkeeper for JC Penney and the University of Missouri-Rolla, retiring in 1981. To all who knew her, Martha was a kind and compassionate friend who always put the best interests of others before herself and will be remembered for her lasting impact on those whose lives she touched.
She will be greatly missed by her brother Bill Moeller and sisters Virginia Sandman and Agnes Ferro; daughters Martha Palmer and husband John, and Norma Aiken, both of Rolla; eight grandchildren Rusty, Keith, Dennis, and David Aungerer, Pam Palmer, Teresa Mears, Annie Arnold, and Joshua Palmer; and great grandchildren Kevin and Brian Jones, James Houchins, R.J., Caleb, and Kyle Aungerer; and other extended family and dear friends.
Mrs. Aiken was preceded in death by her parents Jessie and William Moeller; her husband, Charles Norman "Chip" Aiken; and her sisters, Mary Moeller and Pearl Stambough.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9 at the Null & Son Funeral Home with a rosary service at 6 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Monsignor David Cox as celebrant.
Interment will follow the service in the Rolla City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Patrick's Catholic Church or Phelps County Regional Hospice in Rolla.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla.
