Monica Billard Arnold, 96 died Friday at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, where she was receiving rehabilitation following a sudden fall at her home. She was born on Aug. 28, 1917, in White Mills and was the last surviving member of the late John and Katherine Fey Billard family. She was a graduate of Honesdale High School, class of 1935. A woman of great faith, she recited her rosary every day. She was a member of BVM Queen of Peace in Hawley and a member and past president of its Altar and Rosary Society. She worked into her 80s. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Leslie and Lambert Billard; a sister, Gladys Hill; and nephew, Richard Billard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Queen of Peace Church in Hawley. Private interment will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home Inc., 428 Main St., Honesdale, on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
