The Clerks Salary
One of the items on the agenda was the fixing of the salary for the Clerk (Mr James Ernest Burch). Some discussion ensued as to whether the Board should pay the same salary as the late Clerk had received (his father), or fix a lower one. Ultimately it was decided, on the motion of Mr Beckett, to give Mr Burch (jnr), the same amount £55, on condition that Mr Burch (snr) assisted him.
