Polly, the daughter of John Rice, became the wife of William Arnold in January of 1790 in Marlborough, Middlexex County, Mass. They had three children, Willard b. 1791, Stephen Hartwell b. 1792 and Polly Rice Arnold b. 1795. Polly died only 10 days after young Polly's birth aged 32 years. William married second wife, Relief Rice (cousin of Polly?), a little more than a year later. They too had 3 children, Jackson b. 1797, Winthrop b. 1801 and Caroline b. 1807. Relief died in 1811.
