Relief was the daughter of Eleazer & Elizabeth {Darling} Rice of Marlborough. On 25 October 1765, she became the second wife of William Arnold in Marlborough, Middlesex County, Mass. They had three children, Jackson b. 1797, Winthrop b. 1801 and Caroline Arnold b. 1807. Jackson was married twice - to Lucy Barnes in 1825 and to Fanny Richards. Winthrop was also married twice - to Sophia Barnes in 1796 and to Evaline Howe in 1834. He had 3 children with Lucy and 7 with Evaline. Winthrop died in June of 1868 and is buried with others of his family at Maplewood Cemetery, Marlborough, Mass. Caroline married Martin Howe on 24 June 1838 in Marlborough, Middlesex County, Mass.
