Helen Mackin
Helen Mackin, 85, of Armstrong passed away on Sunday, November 9, 1986 at her home.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12 at the First United Methodist Church in Armstrong with Rev. David H. Wagner officiating. Burial will be in the United Methodist Cemetery in Martell, Wisconsin. Henry-Olson-Furman Funeral Home of Armstrong was in charge of the arrangements.
Helen was born June 28, 1901 in Martell Wisconsin to Charles C. and Margaret (Guiser) Wiff. She received her education in the country schools. In 1923 she married Wayne Benedict who died in 1932. In 1936 she married Howard Pollard. He died in 1963. In 1966 she married Howard Mackin who died in 1972. Helen lived in the Armstrong area for 40 years. She operated a variety of businesses over the year. During the later years, she wintered in Arizona until her health began to fail bout 4 years ago. Helen taught school for a few years before her marriage.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Armstrong, a 50 year member of the order of Eastern Star, a member of this American Legion Auxiliary and a former member of Wednesday Study Club.
Survivors are a step-son, James Pollard, Chicago, Illinois; one brother, Carl C. Wiff, Palmetto, Florida; seven nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a daughter, Ruth and a brother, Guy.
