Per the 1860 Federal Mortality Census from Demark, Lee County Iowa (south of Augusta) little Catherine had been sick for 14 days and died from complication of diarrhea on September 26, 1860 in Augusta. She was buried between her parents Wm C and Catherine S (Kelly) Cameron in the Augusta Cemetery.
