Allen was born to Joseph Alexander and Fannye Schreiber on Oct 14, 1916 in NYC.

Allen served as a Capt in the US Army from 8 Sep 1942 - 5 Mar 1946. For many years Allen had a Dentistry Practice in NYC.

Allen was quite ill following his most recent visit to California. He was diagnosed with a cancer in the blood. The cancer was in its advanced stage. Allen and Bill were devoted to each other. They travelled extensively and had homes in NYC; Newton, NJ; San Diego, CA & Costa Rica.

Together they owned an Avocado Grove in Homestead, FL which was destroyed by a hurricane and then replanted.

Allen was survived by his partner of 40 years, William Liebherr. William died in 2008 in San Diego. Allen and Bill are buried side by side.
