Barbara ‘Bonnie' Scibelli Begley was born in Springfield, Massachusetts to Michael W. and Rita E. (Quinn) Scibelli. She was educated in Springfield schools and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1957. After attending the Mercy Hospital School of X-Ray Technology, Bonnie worked at Providence Hospital in Holyoke, Massachusetts for over 25 years retiring in 1994. She married Thomas D. Begley and they moved to West Springfield where they had two daughters, Jennifer and Michele. She was predeceased by her father, who died in 1979, and her brother, Michael ‘Mike', whom she cared for when he was ill with cancer, and who died in May 1995. At the time of her passing she was survived by her husband, Thomas 'Tom' Begley, two daughters, Michele and Jennifer, her mother, Rita, who died in 2006, and her brother Andrew ‘Andy' who was the President of Springfield Technical Community College (S.T.C.C.).
