Fred died at Swedish Medical Center after a battle with lung cancer. He was born to John and Veronica Abeln. After serving in the Army, he made a living building cabinets in a small shop at his home, and his work is the pride of many homeowners in the Evergreen and Conifer area. Fred was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed archery, fishing, hunting, camping, cutting and splitting wood to heat the house and always enjoyed playing cribbage with friends. Fred also loved a ride on his Harley Davidson. Survivors included: wife Cora (Ramler) Williams; brother Jerry Abeln (Liz); sister Lorraine (Jack) Werner; and nieces Sue Abeln, Julie Smith (Dan), Joannie Abeln and Vicky Heidmamn. Preceding were parents John and Veronica Abeln, brother Melvin Abeln, nephew Gary Abeln, and his precious dogs Linden, Coco, and Murphy. Donations made to American Cancer Society. Celebration of life held April 16 at The Barn Chapel at Evergreen Memorial Park.
