DICK BENNETT
MANILA, Utah—Funeral services for Dick Bennett were Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997 at 11 a.m. at Thomason’s Vernal Mortuary. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery, Manila, Utah.
Bennett, 79, of Manila, died Dec. 23, 1997 at the Columbia Ashley Valley Medical Center in Vernal, Utah.
He was born Oct. 12, 1918 in Manila, a son of John Steven Bennett and Cora Haws Bennett.
He married Elva D. Kidd on Sept. 24, 1938 in Manila. He was a conservation officer for the Utah Fish and Game. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Manila Ward.
His pursuits included ranching, taking care of his horses and helping with the Manila rodeos. He was a former member of the Manila Lions Club, a Daggett County commissioner and served on the Daggett County School Board. He was also a member of the Senior Citizens Board. His first job was with the CCC camps.
He is survived by his wife, Elva Bennett, Manila; a daughter, Mrs. Alex (Joan) Radosevich, Browns Park, Utah; son-in-law, Earl Kroupa, Rock Springs; eight grandchildren, Dale Kroupa, Leanna Dernovich, Delbert Kroupa, Daryl Jay Kroupa, Mike Radosevich, Natalie Gale, Roxanne Reid and Stephen Zane Radosevich; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Berta Hoggle and brother Evan Bennett, both of California.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marion Kay Droupa; a son, Clyde D. Bennett; brothers and sister, Buell Bennett, Durrell Bennett, Scott Bennett and Dorotha Fuller.
