Major Jörn Radloff was born in Stendal, Saxony-Anhalt. After his A-level exams he made an apprenticeship as an electronics specialist and joined the German army in 1992.
After times spent in Hammelburg and Letzlinger Heide, he was sent to Weiden in Noveber 2008. During his time with the military, he was amongst others sent to Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Major Radloff was well known as a very caring and responsible supervisor. His will to help others also reflected in his activities as a voluntary lifeguard.
Major Jörn Radloff sadly lost his life at age 38 when the Eagle IV he was riding with several other German soldiers was attacked with a bazooka, leaving behind to mourn him his wife and two sons aged 7 and 1 1/2 years.
