He served in the U. S. Army during WWII, receiving the Purple Heart. He was a long-time accountant in the Williamston area.
He loved his family and work dearly. Percy was a member of West Locke Wesleyan Church and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters, and grandson, Ryan Lee Alverson.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Betty; sons, Keith (Greer) Alverson and Tim (Jetty) Alverson; daughter, Sheila Alverson and fiancé, Wayne P. Seely; seven grandchildren, Shayna, Kendra, Matt, Jordan, Shaun, Derek, and Kelsey; and five great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Saturday, December 3 at the Williamston Free Methodist Church, Williamston, with Pastor Michael Black of West Locke Wesleyan Church officiating.
