Mary Magdeline Ambrose, 82, of the 1200 block of Drayton Court, died April 4, 1990, in a Norfolk hospital. Mrs. Ambrose, a native of Washington County, N.C., was the widow of Stuart Bailey Ambrose. She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church, Creswell, N.C.
Survivors include four daughters, Grace Spruill of Columbia, N.C., Inez Brown of Aulander, N.C., Debbie Adams of Chesapeake and Ada Zapcic of Campbelltown, Pa.; two sons, Ernest Ambrose of Creswell and James Ambrose of Chesapeake; a brother, Noah L. Ambrose of Edenton, N.C.; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. today in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk, by the Rev. William G. Beagle and the Rev. Peter Lopresti. The body will be sent to Walker Funeral Home, Columbia, N.C., for a service at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Azalea Memorial Gardens, Columbia.
