Robert P. Blythe
(By Mrs. C.W. Moore)

It is with a profound sense of personal loss, that we pause at this hour to pay honor and respect, and to give voice to our love for our friend, Robert P. Blythe, who passed away at his home Thursday afternoon at six o'clock. He was 44 years old, born at Brantley, Ala., coming here as a small boy.

We can see him in early years exercising his divine power of choice as he unites with the Junction City Baptist church to follow Christ in the days of his youth as well as through age. We see him follow life's highest destiny, when he married at the age of 24. How often did his love and sympathy reach out to brighten the way of those in need, in sorrow and in despair and speak words of comfort, yet at the same time needed our comforting words. He numbered his friends by his acquaintances, and as we covered his casket with a blanket of pure white chrysanthemums, placed there by his loving friends, it was a pleasing testimony of the esteem they held for him. To all who were privileged to visit his home during his months of illness, there remains a living memory of his abiding faith and cheerful words.

He is survived by his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Roberta Sheppard of Edison, one daughter, Wynelle Blythe, two brothers, W.A. and E.A. Blythe and one sister, Mrs. Ed Layfield of Columbus.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church with Rev. L.W. Erwin, and Rev. J.W. Womble officiating. Interment was in West View cemetery.
