Willie Altus, 71, of Leroy, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday Dec. 13 in a Hillsboro hospital.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec 15 at Gerald Evangelical and Reformed Church near Leroy, Rev. W. M. Wuertz officiated, burial was in the Gerald Cemetery.

Mr. Altus was a retired farmer. He was born in Germany and came to this country as a child. He had lived in Leroy most of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Altus of Leroy; three sons, Rudolph Altus and Herbert Altus, both of Leroy and M-Sgt. Robert Altus of Madrid Spain; a daughter, Mrs. Louise Snider of Leroy; two brothers, Theodore Altus of Casa Grande, Ariz., Walter Altus of Harlingen; five sisters, Mrs. Selma Hoffmeyer of Leroy, Mrs. Frieda Boettger of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Helen Froehlich of Wenchester, Mrs. Bertha Jantz of West, Mrs. Charlotta Jantz of Elm Mott; 10 gtrandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers wre Willis Schoper, Durman Davis, Gerald Staas, Alfred Schoper, Alfred Hoffmeyer and Wollace Schoper.
