CONNERVILLE – Services for Haskel “Hack” Brooks, 63, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 at the Connerville Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Connerville City Cemetery.

The son of Robert Kelly Brooks and Jeanie Lee Healdton Brooks, Brooks was born November 30, 1929 in Connerville, Oklahoma. He died October 16, 1993 in Carlsbd, New Mexico, where he had lived for many years.

He married Betty Whittle on December 19, 1966 in Hobbs, New Mexico. She survives of the home. Other survivors include one son, Joe Moore and his wife, Sandra, of Carlsbad; four brothers, Ted Brooks of Oklahoma City, Jack Brooks of Connerville and Carl and Tommy Brooks, both of Wapanucka; five sisters, Phyllis Nelson of Oklahoma City, Jo Burns of Blanchard, Bobbie Rodgers of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Syble Garrison and Christine Phelps, both of Sulphur; and four grandchildren.

Brooks was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, J. Gross.

Pallbearers were Ted Brooks, Jack Brooks, Carl Brooks, Tom Brooks, Welborn Gross, an Snake Norman.
