Gwendolyne Allen, 78, a longtime resident of the Duncan and Comanche, Oklahoma area, died Saturday morning, June 24, 1989 at Duncan Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness.

She married Claude Henry Allen on February 14, 1931 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker. Mr. Allen preceded her in death on April 20, 1973.

Survivors include one son, Clayton Leon Allen, Marlow, Oklahoma; one daughter, Mary Sue Allen of the home in Meridian; two brothers, Corky Thomas, Okmulgee, Oklahoma and Raymond McDaniels, Austin, Texas; three sisters, Joice Hubbard of Montana, Henryetta Vincent of New Mexico and Dora Taylor of New Mexico; three grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 27, 1989 at 2:30 p.m. at Fairlawn Cemetery. Dr. James Smith from the First Christian Church in Duncan officiated. Morehead-Goetz Funeral Home was in charge of the burial.
