Harold Lloyd Casto, 75, Ellsworth, Iowa, formerly of Topeka, died of cancer Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000 at an Ames, Iowa Hospice house.

He was born June 10, 1925 in Topeka, Shawnee, Kansas to Charles and Ida Meyer Casto and lived in Kansas before he moved to Ellsworth, Iowa about 40 years ago. He was a union carpenter before he retired n 1975.

Harold was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth. He married Margery Jane "Dolly" Hovda on Aug. 18, 1961 in Story City, Iowa. Margery survives. A son, Larry Casto, died in 1997. Other survivors include a son, Michael Pounds, Ellsworth; a duaghter, Loretta heinen, Slater, Iowa; four brothers, Marvin Casto, Cecil Casto and Dale Casto, all of Topeka, and Glenn Casto, Nevada City, CA; foru sisters, Chrystle Steele and Wilma Adams, both of Topeka, Eunice Petesch, Meriden and Darlene Van Pykeran, in CA; six grandchildren; and two great-granchildren.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery of Hamilton County, Ellsworth. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Becker Funeral Home in Jewell, Iowa.
