Everett Lee Baumgarden, 93, of Bolivar died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, in Parkview Healthcare Facility, Bolivar. The son of Eli and Letha Shyrer Baumgarden, he was born Jan. 13, 1914, near Gerster.

He and Sylvia Bryant were married Oct. 6, 1940. She preceded him in death Feb. 18, 2006.

His parents and a sister, Goldia Spoor, also preceded him in death.

He was a farmer at Collins for many years. In 1961 the family moved from Collins to Bolivar where he worked as a carpenter until his retirement.

He accepted Christ as a teenager and became a member of Coon Creek Baptist Church at Collins. Presently he was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church in Bolivar.

Surviving are his daughter, Sue B. McLaury of Raytown; one brother, William Baumgarden of Collins; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 9) at Murray Funeral Home, Bolivar, with Pastor Gary Urich officiating. Burial will be in Robinson Cemetery at Collins. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:30 p.m. before the service. Online condolences may be made at www.murrayfuneralhomes.com.
