Elizabeth Irene Adams was born on Dec. 7, 1900 in Crawford County, the daughter of Patrick and Kathryn Kelly Pelley. She died Jan. 19, 1981at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital, Denison, at the age of 80.

Irene was raised in Denison. She received her education in the St. Rose of Lima schools.

On Sept. 14, 1918, Irene was united in marriage to Glenn Adams at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. They made their first home on a farm near Manilla. Later they moved to Denison where they lived for many years. After retirement, Irene and her husband Glenn moved to Coos Bay, Ore. They continued to make their home there until Glenn's death in 1965. At this time Irene returned to Denison. For the past two years she has been a resident of Eventide Lutheran Home.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Irene was preceded in death by two sons, Glenn and Charles. Irene's daughter Virginia Ahart died just a few hours after her mother on Monday.

Survivors include, one daughter Alma, Mrs. Eldon Reinhart of Carroll, 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Jan. 21, at 10:30 a.m. at I St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Burial was in the Nishnabotna Cemetery near Manilla. The Rev. Father Allan Reicks officiated at the mass and graveside rites. Father Lloyd. W. White led the rosary at the funeral home the evening before the funeral. Pallbearers were Loren Adams, Larry Revenaugh, Harvey Miller, Floyd Kruse, Leonard Reis and Ed Ladwig. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of the Huebner Funeral Home.
