Edrie Gassaway 8/15/1908 9/14/2005 A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 20th, 2:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., for Sister Edrie Gassaway who passed away at home peacefully September 14, 2005 with family and friends by her side. Edrie Gassaway was born in Taney County, Missouri to Ben and Lola Herd. She married the one and only love of her life Ernie Gassaway February 15, 1931. Ms. Gassaway lived in Lamont for 52 years and will be remembered for raising and selling primarily Chihuahua dogs and taking in any strays needing a home, including people. She would always lend a helping hand to those in need. Ms. Gassaway never drove a car so she walked everywhere. She very much enjoyed her friendships with the people she traded with at County Fair Market, The General Store and Coronets. Edrie was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Gassaway; her children, Mary Gassaway, Cloleta McKinney, Virgie Aseltine and Ernie Jr. (Sonny); her great-grandchildren, Bryan and Luke and a great-great-granddaughter, Morgan. Ms. Gassaway is survived by five granddaughters, Dana Mosley, Lanita Moler, Lauri Gregory, Tami Heely and Leigh Ann Howell; ten great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Visitation begins Monday, September 19th, from 4-8 p.m., at Mish Funeral Home. Legacy.com
