Survivors include her husband Don and their two sons, Peter and Mark, granddaughter Moriah, mother Martha A. Stauffer, brother John Garth Stauffer, sisters Judith Oller and Marjorie Hastings.

Lynne's father was an engineer employed by ARAMCO (Arabian American Oil Company). Her family moved to Saudi Arabia when she was she was six (1948).

Lynne entered the Le Grand Verger boarding school located in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1957. She began college in Louisville, KY majoring in French and completed her BA degree at Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT.

Lynne met her husband "to be" her last summer vacation from college in 1964. Don was a geophysicist working relief shifts in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Lynne was working that summer in the dentist office as an employee dependent. They were married the following year upon Lynne's completion of college.

Their first home was in Morgan City, Louisiana. Lynne taught French in a parochial school and Don was a geologist for Gulf Oil Corporation.

Subsequently, they moved to New Orleans where their first child Peter was born in 1969.

The Allen family transferred overseas to Lagos, Nigeria in 1970, another son Mark was born in 1972.

After five years in Nigeria, the family moved to Kinshasa, Zaire in 1975 where they lived for another four years.

In 1979 the Allens were transferred to London, England and subsequently to Houston, Texas.

In 1985 the family came to California with Chevron Corporation.

Lynne was athletic having participated in gymnastics, swimming and biking. She looked forward to Don's retirement and spending the "Golden Years" hiking with him.

This was not to be.

Lynne developed Multiple Sclerosis in 1990. Her disease escalated until she was confined to a wheel chair in 1998. Her disease was complicated by multiple bouts of pneumonia.

Lynne was a lover of Jesus Christ having been baptized in 1956 at the age of thirteen. She was a Bible scholar and belong to various Christian groups: i.e. BSF, Focus Living, Moms in Touch etc.

She will be missed by all those who knew her smile and sparkle; but, most of all by her family. In His Name! Amen.
