"July 3, 1845 The negro Esquire who was in service with Br. and Sr. Kluge was called suddenly and quickly into eternity when as he was in the act of showing to another person the way to a neighbor's house he sank down and died. We had the joy of observing that apparently the above-mentioned death has made an impression on the negroes."
