NIAGARA FALLS — James A. Fitzsimmons, Jr., 63, of Niagara Falls, NY, died on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility, in Niagara Falls, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late James A. and Ann (Young) Fitzsimmons.

Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. He attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. He was employed at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for 36 years, until he retired in 2000. Jimmy was a devoted member of St. Joseph Church where he also served as a Eucharistic minister and usher. He was also an active 3rd degree member and a former warden of the Knights of Columbus Council #247 in Niagara Falls. One of Jimmy's favorite pastimes was having coffee with his friends at Frankie's Donuts.

Jimmy is survived by three sisters, Colleen Calandrelli of Niagara Falls, NY, Maureen (Harry) Cardin and Darlene (Charles) Florence, both of Grand Island, NY; his nieces and nephews, Lisa Rydzik, Bryan Calandrelli, Charles Florence, Miria Shain, Dawn Cardin-Galeza, Joseph Cardin, John M. Fitzsimmons and James Fitzsimmons; two great- nieces; three great-nephews and several cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, John (Cecilia of Wilson, NY) Fitzsimmons; one sister, Kathleen Fitzsimmons and one niece, Theresa Fitzsimmons.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 4–8 PM at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON FUNERAL CHAPEL, 468- 19th Street, Niagara Falls, NY. The Knights of Columbus Council #247 will conduct services on Sunday at 7:30 PM at the funeral chapel. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 28th at 10 AM in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.
