Roy F. Christen, 82, S. Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach Shores, passed away Friday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange. Mr. Christen was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey and moved to this area in 1996 from Philadelphia, Pa. He enlisted in Merchant Marine in June of 1943, became a radio operator and stayed in Merchant Marine until May of 1946. Following in his father's footsteps, he worked for a year and a half in two different pastry shops in Switzerland before becoming owner/operator for 30 years of the 'Swiss Pastry Shop' in Philadelphia, Pa. He married a swiss miss, Hilda, his wife of 58 years. He is also survived by four sons, Randy, Daytona Beach, Andrew, Port Orange, James, Downingtown, Pa. and Theodore, Oakland, Calif.; a daughter, Elizabeth LaMont, Moorehead, Ky.; seven grandsons; two granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
