My aunt Rena was a small woman, but she was a remarkable one. I found out in later years that she lost a son the day he was born. She showed great kindness and love toward my brother and me. We lived close to her house so in the summer time we would walk to her house. Today I think about her generosity toward us.
My Uncle Ocie and Aunt Rena had a large house with tile and wood floors. My brother and I would run in our sock feet and "slide" across her nice, shinny floors. Or we would sit on our rears and turn round and round. We had a ball.
She had Boston Terrier's. Knowing now that she lost her only child, I know these dogs became her "babies."
She had an amazing front yard. It was full of flowers of all sorts. In fact the flowers were the front yard.
