Brenda Kay Hasten Adkisson, Psy.D, passed away peacefully in her home in Marion, Indiana on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. She rejoices in Heaven with dear family and friends. She was born February 7, 1952 in Dallas, Texas to Olen and Jewel Hasten. Dr. Adkisson graduated from Lewisville High School in 1970, where she was a member of the Fighting Farmers Marching Band, and Future Business Leaders of America (F.B.L.A.), where she served as vice-president. Brenda graduated from Texas Woman's University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. In 2005, Dr. Adkisson and her daughter, Dr. Courtney McEuin both earned their Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology at Spaulding University. Dr. Adkisson worked as a psychologist for Grant-Blackford Mental Health Inc. for the past 8 years. She was passionate about her work and service to her community, and will always be remembered for her faith in Christ, humor, strength and generosity.

Besides her daughter, Dr. Adkisson is also survived by two grandchildren; two aunts; two nephews and one niece; seven great-nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, and numerous beloved family. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Eugene Hasten; grandson Tristan McEuin and many other beloved family.
