I, J. Wathen, manager of this memorial, am Galen's 2nd cousin, 2x removed. His maternal grandfather, Dawson Gideon Daugherty, Jr., was the brother of my 2nd great-grandmother, Lucina Amy (Daugherty) Magers.

HOLTON - Galen Thomas McClane, 68, Holton, died Friday, Oct. 26, 1990, at his home.

Mr. McClane was a farmer, truck driver, heavy equipment operator and last a custodian at a state hospital in Topeka.

He was born Sept. 26, 1922, at Havensville, the son of Frank and Margaret Daugherty McClane. He spent most of his life in Jackson County and in Holton the past 10 years.

Mr. McClane attended First Baptist Church in Holton.

He was married to Betty Blue on April 8, 1944, in Fairview. They were divorced.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda G. Lister, Hoyt; three sons, Thomas E. McClane and Dennis Ray McClane, both of Hoyt, and Richard W. McClane, Mayetta; his mother, Margaret McClane, Holton; and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Mercer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Holton Hospital Heart Monitor Fund in care of Kansas State Bank, Holton, 66436.
