Marie Veronica Costa was born January 16, 1927 to Albert R. and Clementina Costa, the first generation born in the United States.

She grew up in California, with her sisters Stella and Jeannie, and her brother, Al.

She met and married Charles Lopes Barros and had three children: Charles Michael Barros (born November 16, 1945), Donald Lane Barros (born February 3, 1949, and Lisa Marie Barros (Loftus) (born April 4, 1965).

After she and Charles divorced, she met and married Richard Wilkinson and was married to him when he passed away in the late 1990s.

She eventually moved to Boise, Idaho, where her son, Donald, and wife Kathy lived. She had a stroke, which left her unable to walk without assistance. Later, she moved into an assisted living complex close to her son. In November, 2000, she was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where she only survived two days. Her cause of death was kidney failure secondary to congestive heart failure, at age 73.

Her one wish was that she be buried close to her parents. Her wishes were fulfilled, and her ashes are inurned at the foot of her mother.

She is missed by all of her family.
