Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Pastor Jack Dickson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery. Viewing will be Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Doris was born March 30, 1928, to Oscar Otto Riggs and Bessie May (Fell) Riggs in Tisdale, KS. She was reared and educated in the Dexter and Winfield area. On December 1, 1945, Doris married Walter A. Ball in Winfield, KS. The couple made their home in Arkansas City. Doris was a member of the Woman's Bowling League, Couples Bowling League, Friendship Meals, and the IXL Home Extension Unit.
Doris enjoyed doing needle work and camping.
Survivors include her son Clifford Ball and wife Virginia of Arkansas City, KS; daughter Diana Dehart and husband David of Elmore City, OK; sisters, Lucille Doolittle and Harriet Thompson; brother, Bob Riggs; grandchildren, Ray Robinson, Cammy Boone, Jeana Johnson, Shawna Thorn, Cody Ball; ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Walter, her parents, a brother Clyde Riggs, sisters Helen Johnson and Esther Kincheloe, and a great-grandson Maycom Ball. A memorial has been established for the St. Frances Surgical Care Unit Staff. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
