Mrs. Adams' Rites Pending
Services are tentatively planned for Monday afternoon for Mrs. Marjorie Adams, 72, of 722 State st., who died following a heart attack while shopping here about noon yesterday.
Mrs. Adams, widow of the late William E. Adams, a long-time employee of the Northern Auto Co., had served for many years on election boards here and in gathering school census information. She was planning to assist in the census later this month and had just returned from Everett, Washington, where she had visited her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William J. Adams, and family.
The body is at the Stone Funeral Home and services have not been made, pending the arrival of her son, and her sisters, Mrs. Frances Herrick and Mrs. Ruth Mania who are in Florida.
Mrs. Adams was the daughter of the late Ransom Merrill, a boat builder here in the early days of Petoskey.

Rites Monday For Mrs. Adams
Services for Mrs. Marjorie E. Adams, 72, who died Thursday following a heart attack, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Stone Funeral Home. Rev. Ralph P. Witmer will be in charge and burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Adams was born March 13, 1894 in Petoskey. She was married to William E. Adams in 1915 and they made their home here all of their life except for a few years in Washington, D. C. Mr. Adams died in 1948.
Mrs. Adams was graduated from Petoskey High School and taught elementary education in Resort township many years ago.
She was a member of the Methodist Church and was active in women's work. She assisted on city election boards and in the school census taking for many years.
Surviving are her son, William J. of Everett, Washington; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs Ruth Mania and Mrs. Frances Herrick, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
The body is at the Stone Funeral Home where friends may call.
