Passed away March 16, 2011, at home.
Mr. Barrett was born February 19, 1926 in Kalamazoo, the son of Garry and
Bertha (Bayer) Barrett. He was a Veteran, having served in the Army Air Force. He retired from ATT Communications as a technician. Mr.
Barrett was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Parchment; Tillers International, K of C, Portage Senior Band, Comstock VFW 6252, River Cities Concert Bands, St. Ambrose Catholic Church Choir, Kalamazoo Antique
Auto Restorers, Buick Clubs of America, ATT Pioneers,
the American Legion, and the Kalamazoo Air Zoo. He was
a Boy Scouts of America Leader and a Coach for Parchment Rocket Football and Little League. Dermot is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Courtney) Barrett to whom he married June 23, 1951; their five children, Joel, Andrew (Theresa), Christopher and Gregory (Joy) Barrett and Therese Barrett Scarlati; six grandchildren, Michael, Paul, Chase, Sarah, Katherine and Joseph; three great grandchildren, Tara, Vincent, Evan and Dermot; a sister, Esther M. Barrett and three nieces, Catherine, Susan, and Karen. Family and friends will be
received on Friday, March 18, 2011 from 5-7 PM at PARCHMENT - REDMOND

Where a Rosary will be
recited at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Parchment. Fr. James O'Leary Celebrant. Entombment will be held in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Tillers International, Hospice Care of S.W. Michigan or St. Ambrose Catholic Church
