Michael David Balliet, 12, of Drums, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Columbia-Montour Hospice at Maria Hall, Danville, following a short illness.

He was born in Kingston on July 5, 2000, son of David and Elizabeth, both of Drums, and he spent his entire life in Drums. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Johns, Pa. and also Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Conyngham. Michael was a 6th-grade student at Drums Elementary/Middle School, and loved music. He was a saxophone player in the advanced band at school and also was a piano student for five years. He enjoyed sports and was a member of the Conyngham CVCO Basketball League, and Valley East T-Ball, Minor and Little League. He loved playing video games, target and trap shooting, playing with his pet dogs, visiting the beach and riding motorcycles with his Dad.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Burton and Virginia "Pat" Balliet, and a maternal grandfather, Frank H. Walser.
Surviving, in addition to his parents are his sisters, Patricia, at home; Jacquelyn, Herndon, Va., and Allyson, Drums; a maternal grandmother, Patricia, Conyngham; paternal grandmother, Carol, Drums; aunts, uncles and cousins, Daniel and Cindy and their children, Ryan and Renee, Drums; Stuart and Denise and their children, William and Ian, and Alex, of Drums; Frank Jr. and Laura, and their daughter, Ellie, Wivenhoe, Essex, England.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Johns. Sister Janet and the Rev. William W. "Chip" will officiate the services. Burial will follow in St. John's Lutheran and UCC Cemetery, St. Johns. Friends may call at Harman Funeral Homes and Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, for a viewing Friday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. and a closed casket visitation Friday evening 6 to 9 p.m.
