Raymondville - Patrick Dixon Brinkley, 36, died Tuesday, 30 JUN 1998, at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, TX.
He was born 5 JAN 1962 in Victoria. Chapel service will be held Saturday, 4 JUL 1998 at 10:00 am at Duddlesten Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen.
He is survived by his mother, Leann Capps of Raymondville; father, James Dixon (Hazel) Brinkley of Tennessee; his grandmother, Alma Cobb of Raymondville; three children: a son, Reilly Brinkley of McAllen; two daughters, Heather Brinkley and Shelby Brinkley from McAllen; a sister, Kim Brinkley Rodriguez of Raymondville; a brother, Gene W. Brinkley of Georgia; stepsister Suzanne Presley of College Station and stepbrother Tommy Brinkley of Laredo.
Pallbearers will be Mike Helle, Carlos Leal, Kirk Brown (brother in law), Wiffy Rodriguez (brother in law), Eric Rodriguez (nephew), and Stormy Brinkley (first cousin).

Patrick was the son of James "Jim" Dixon and Leann Capps Brinkley. His stepmother is Hazel Brinkley.
Patrick's step siblings were Kimberley Brinkley, Gene Wesley Brinkley, Tommy Brinkley and Suzanne E Presley.
Patrick's ex-wife was Kim Brown Brinkley and together they had three children:
Heather Michelle Brinkley
Shelby Lynn Brinkley
Reilly Dixon Brinkley
Patrick was the only biological child of James Dixon Brinkley.
Patrick and his ex-wife, Kim, were high school sweethearts. Kim has since remarried Pat Risica and resides in the Rio Grande Valley.
I initially did not state why Patrick died. I feel like it is time to put this information on his page.
Patrick was stabbed 22 times by an intruder, while he was asleep on the sofa in the den in the early morning hours, at a home where he was visiting in 1998. Patrick survived the trip to the hospital. He had stab wounds in the back of his forearms, bottoms of his feet, chest, and in his heart. He had tried to fight off his attacker from a sound sleep proven by the location of the stab wounds.
Due to Patrick's loss of oxygen for several minutes, he was in a very bad state. Patrick's family chose to remove any medical assistance provided to keep him alive.
We all loved Patrick very much.
