She attended Sussex Central Public School System. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Jarratt and supported the Eastern Star Chapter of Stony Creek. She loved attending church and spending time with family and friends.
Sallie leaves to cherish many precious memories: her sons, John R. Griffin of Stony Creek and Earl R. Griffin Sr. (Jackie) of Richmond; Dorothy Davis (Richard) of Henrico and Frances Smith of Emporia; daughters-in-law, Joyce Ann Griffin and Lula H. Griffin; brother, Miles Brown of Petersburg; sisters, Sue Frances Pulliam and Catherine Parham, both of Richmond; grandchildren, James (Bun) Bailey of Hopewell, Gwendolyn Bailey, Christina Mason Griffin and Tiffany Thompson (Jesse), all of Henrico; James Tyrone Smith (Monika) of Petersburg, Shamelda Griffin of Prince George and Earl R.
