Walter E. Bright CHESAPEAKE - Walter E. Bright of Chesapeake, Virginia, died April 24, 2009. Born in Princess Anne County (now Virginia Beach), he retired from the Norfolk public school system after 30 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church Faith Diamond in Chesapeake, where he was an elder and a member of the male chorus. He was also a member of the Fairfield/Parkwood Civic League. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Bright of Chesapeake; two daughters, Juanita Reid of Fayettville, N.C., and JoAnne Bright Barnes (Ed) of Portsmouth; seven sons, Richard Bright, Donald Bright and Gregory Bright, all of Virginia Beach, Walter M. Bright (Deborah), Dale Bright, Roderick Bly Sr. and Roderick Bly Jr., all of Chesapeake; three brothers; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four godchildren, Dawn Hinton, Brandis Cromwell Carter, Megan Cromwell Corprew and Olleo Cromwell III, all of Chesapeake. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister and a brother.
