Grace Kemmitzer died in 1965 in her 47th year at Chanute Air Force Base Hospital, Ill. after a long fight with cancer. She was a daughter to Carl F. and Nellei L. Harding Hooks. Her childhood was spent in Lake Worth, Fla., and she attended Lake Worth Schools.
On December 22, 1942, she was married to the late Walter D. Kemmitzer at Stuart, Fla. They lived at Lake Worth following their marriage and later at Greenville, Miss. from where they moved in April, 1965, where her husband, who was retired from the US Air Force, served as a civil service employee at Chanute Air Force Base.
Mrs. Kemmitzer was a loving wife to her husband, and always tended to his needs. Mr. Kemmitzer, upon her death, remarried in the short course of three months, but although he just recently passed away, the presence of his first wife was and will always be linked to his existance.
Mrs. Kemmitzer not only was a loving wife, but a meritorious mother to 4 children, Jackie, Walter Jr, Charles, and Dale. They were still young when she had to go, but all continue keeping sweet memories that bring back the desire of having a mother´s love. Grace was a strong women, a devoted wife, and a gifted mother. I never had the chance to meet her, but I´m her grandchild, and as such, can see many qualities in my father (Walter Jr) that have definately been given on by his mother.
May she rest in peace and enjoy of the fruits of her labours.
Her family will always miss her.....her family will always love her!
