I lost my Beautiful Boy, my Wizard on March 9, 2011 -- a month short of his 12th birthday.
About a week and a half before, he started to lose weight rapidly -- and this was a cat who had been twenty pounds. I came home from work, found him paralyzed and made the sad decision to have him put down.
When I went upstairs to collect him to take to the vet, he was gone. His big kind heart had given out.
My son and I buried him in the backyard. I will miss him terribly.
I lost a special friend today
The kind you can't replace
And looking at his empty bed
I still can see his face.
I know he's in a special place
Saint Francis has for such friends
Where meadows, fields & flowers help make them
strong and whole again.
I know he's watching over me
He'll be with me when I cry,
So with one more kiss on his beloved head.
I told my friend goodbye.
