Clifford passed away Sat., May 19th, 2007. He was 85.

Born on July 11th, 1921 to John B. and Anna Belle (Embree) Baker, Clifford received his education in Claremore prior to joining the Marines during WWII where he was awarded the Purple Heart.

After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned to Claremore and began work with Akin Plumbing. An opportunity to start his own business presented itself, and Clifford's 54-year career as the owner/operator of Baker Plumbing was launched.

On Sept. 19th, 1972, Clifford and Dorothy M. Collins married. Their union was blessed with one child, their son, Frank.

Dedicated to his work, Clifford's leisure time was limited, but when his schedule allowed he enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching NASCAR and just spending time with friends. Indulging his grandchildren was another favorite activity and not surprisingly, all six of them loved spending time with their adored "Papa." He held memberships in the American Legion and the VFW.

Caring and eager to help a friend in need, Clifford leaves family and friends with a host of treasured memories. Those who survive include his wife, Dorothy Baker of Claremore, his son, Frank Baker, also of Claremore; his stepdaughter, Iris Vannessa Umble of Verdigris; eight grandchildren, and two brothers, Jack Baker and Tim Baker, both of California.
