Elizabeth was the daughter of Joseph & Nancy Greer. She was one of eight children. She married Harvey Coit in 1844. Elizabeth was the president of the first Women Suffrage Assocation in Columbus and later treasure of the state organization in 1844. The Coit house was located at 242 South Third Street and later acquired by Dr. S. Hartman in 1901. Her daughter was Belle Coit Kelton, wife of Frank C. Kelton. Elizabeth died of "Cerebral Embolism" and was interred in the family plot May 31st, 1901. Cross reference to Kelton Family.
