Hall of Fame Major League Baseball Player. He was a Hall of Fame shortstop for the Cleveland Indians. Coming to the Indians in 1938 as a 22 year old, he was named the player/manager for two years making him the youngest manager ever. Eight times he was named to the All-Star team and in 1948 he was the league's MVP and led the Indians to the World Series Championship. Following the 1950 season he went to the Red Sox for two years as a player and two more as just the manager. He was also the manager of the Kansas City Athletics from 1955 to 1957 and the Chicago Cubs in 1960. Following his retirement he became a popular WGN announcer of the Cubs games. The Cleveland Indians retired his number 5 and the city of Cleveland named a street bordering Municipal Stadium Boudreau Blvd.
