Uncle Attlee: My grandfather's brother. William Attlee Lear was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 12, 1895 Caddo Parish. He was one of 10 children born to the union of Henry Green Lear(7/1/1854 - 3/26/1929) and Martha Hamlin Lear (4/1/1863 - 9/26/1954). He was married to Oada Lewis(9/24/1895 - 8/8/1986) on April 15, 1928. He was a resident of California for over 65 years. He arrived in California in 1919. Uncle Attlee worked for the City of Los Angeles for 35 years. He was retired for twenty years before he died. Uncle Attlee was baptized by Pastor Elliott J. Mason, Sr. in 1966 and remained an active member of Trinity Baptist Church over the years. Uncle Attlee has numerous relatives and friends that will miss him truly. He loved his senior citizen activities. He also belonged to the Louisiana Pelican Social Club, and Frans-ami Club. He was always playing Bridge. He loved playing cards and belonged to Bridge Groups. He will always be remembered for his wit and sense of humor. He was a special person. All will miss him. May he rest in peace. Buried at Rosedale Cemetery, Los Angeles, California

His siblimgs are: Henry James, Dorothy, Martha Beulah, Craig Elwood, Earnest Green (Bud), Mary Green, Joseph Dewey, Ruthie, and Thomas Calvin.

He died at the age of 88.
