Aunt Oada: My grandfather's sister in law. Oada Lewis Lear was born September 24, 1895, in Napoleonville, Louisiana. She was the oldest of eight children born to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Lucien Lewis. She received her early education in Napoleonville, and she attended Leland College in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. When she was eight years old, she was baptized into the fellowship of the Bright Morning Star Baptist Church, Napoleonville, Rev. Israel Walker, pastor. In 1918 she moved to Los Angeles, California and she had resided there ever since. In 1928, she was united in holy wedlock with William Attlee Lear, my great uncle. They lived a beautiful life together for 56 years until 1984 when Uncle Attlee died (8/12/1895 - 1/21/1984) During the closing days of her life on earth she continued to give a strong and unwavering testimony to her faith in Jesus Christ. After an illness of several months, on Friday, August 8, 1986 at 8:25 a.m., while in the old Ross Loos Hospital, she went to be with her Lord. She has numerous relatives and friends that miss her dearly. She is buried at Rosedale Cemetery, Los Angeles, California with Uncle Attlee.

She died at the age of 90.
