Obed Maynard Fricke, 68, of Montezuma, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.

He was born March 20, 1939, in Dodge City, to Samuel L. and Katherine B. Mininger Fricke.

A resident of the Montezuma area for most of his life, Mr. Fricke was an accountant and farmer and involved in the concrete business. He enjoyed his dog, Mac ToJo.

Survivors include a brother, Samuel L. Fricke Jr. of Ontario, Calif.; six sisters, Annabel Smith of Salem, Ore., Gertrude Unruh of Copeland, Mary Friesen and Clara Belle Koehn, both of Montezuma, Johanna Schmidt of El Campo, Texas, and Helen Koehn of Hartley, Texas; and several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Friesen and Ruby Unruh; and a brother, Robert Lee Fricke.

Funeral was at Montezuma High School Gym, with Gail Shanelee officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Montezuma.
